Happy 4th Everyone!

Andrew and I both had this long weekend (mostly) off. He worked for a few hours Friday and I was on call for the weekend (but no one called, yippee!), so we spent our 4th having lots of TV-free family time with Bear.

Friday it rained (a lot) so we did inside things. We played Sesame Street Dominos and gave the dog a bath (not so much for fun for the dog, Andrew, or I but Bear enjoyed it emensly). We also weathered about 47 temper tantrums. Saturdays forecast was essentially the same - dreary rain all day. We packed up the car and drove 150 miles north to Story Land. We had a BLAST! We spent the whole day and probably still missed about 1/2 the park. We let Bear set the pace, which meant steering our swan boat in circles the entire time and riding the rides three and four times in a row. After the park closed we headed home through North Conway (with all the other tourists) so instead of fighting traffic we stopped at Elvio's Pizzeria and ate dinner outside on the lawn.

It was a fantastic day. And Bear's giggly smile made it all worth it.

There used to be a Story Land here in Lake George NY, but it became the Great Escape and is now a 6 flags park, I miss that quaint Story Land.
