Ggggrrrr!

WHY is the second mitten NEVER the same size as the first? The stripe on the second one is about 1/2" lower that on the first mitten. If only my MIL was an amputee.

I'm laughing so hard I'm crying! OH if ONLY! lol too funny. Of course this issue is why I started knitting two socks at once either by two circs or giant circ with magic loop.

i'm not sure the cuffs are "level"... what about "the magic of blocking"? or you could have your MIL split some kindling in hopes of an accident - but that wouldn't be nice,now would it?

sniffles about after the laughing has ceased.....amputee.....too funny....I agree with justapril, that's the very reason that I started socks on circs too....keep us posted....

Weeeelllll -- you could just tell your MIL not to ever put her hands close together, right? After all, you've made her 2 mittens so her hands should be warm enough individually...???

Yeah, okay, so not everything can be justified... :)

Knit them together on 2 circs. It's the same method as knitting 2 socks on 2 circs. ;-}

I'm going to have to stop in here more often! An amputee! I've grown accustomed to having these two appendages hanging off the end of my arm for 60 years now. I'm kind of "attached" to them, if you will. I am willing to pretend I have a "withered" hand, or maybe a "BobDole" hand. I could always hold a pencil so people wouldn't notice the difference. OR, I could just wear the mittens you have so lovingly made me and not notice any difference. I think that sounds like a plan. Your MIL, and proud of it!!
ps: I had to sign up for a google account in order to post - I am not sure what that means. They should not let old women with withered hands on computers, obviously.

Been there!
BTW: Sox Swap on Ravelry has posted the Questionnaire and apparently it is due (posted Fri/due Monday). I was away for the long weekend and surprised by the quick due date. Not sure if you knew yet, figured I'd give you a heads up also. Looks like they're taking them late, maybe they just wanted them ASAP.
